Compared the actions of JM17 with known Nrf2 activators (such as Omaveloxolone) in regulating oxidative homeostasis, and evaluated their effects on mitochondrial function, mutant ataxin-3 protein toxicity, and oxidative stress. Results showed that JM17 at low doses (less than 5 µM) still had better antioxidant ability compared to other Nrf2 activators and specifically increased mitochondrial superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2).
