BU224 HCl 生物活性

描述 BU224 hydrochloride is distinguished as a selective ligand with high affinity for the imidazoline I2 receptor, evidenced by a Ki value of 2.1 nM. It is occasionally employed as an antagonist for the I2 receptor. The compound is noted for its neuroprotective qualities, including anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects. In the context of Alzheimer's disease research, BU224 hydrochloride has been shown to enhance memory in 5XFAD mice models, contributing to the enlargement of dendritic spines and mitigating the alterations in NMDARs induced by Aβ[1][2][3].

BU224 HCl 动物研究

Animal study Administering BU224 hydrochloride at a dosage of 5 mg/kg intraperitoneally, twice daily over a span of 10 days, has been shown to enhance both behavioral performance and memory capabilities in 5XFAD mice. This treatment regimen also leads to a decrease in the levels of the microglial marker Iba1, as well as the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and TNF-α, while concurrently increasing the expression of the astrocytic marker GFAP in 5XFAD mice[1]. A single intraperitoneal injection of BU224 hydrochloride at a dose of 10 mg/kg effectively decreases the immobility of rats in the forced swim test, suggesting potential antidepressant properties[2].
