Monensin Sodium Salt/莫能菌素钠盐 生物活性

描述 Monensin sodium, an orally administered antibiotic, operates as an ionophore that facilitates Na+/H+ exchange and is recognized as a potent inhibitor of Wnt signaling. It causes a noticeable enlargement of multivesicular bodies (MVBs) and influences the regulation of exosome secretion. Monensin sodium is applied in research related to bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections and exhibits anticancer efficacy[1][2][3][4].
体内研究

Administered orally at a dose of 10 mg/kg daily for a six-week period, Monensin sodium effectively hinders the advancement of intestinal tumors in multiple intestinal neoplasia (Min) mice, without manifesting any toxicity to the normal mucosa[2].
体外研究

Monensin sodium, in concentrations of 1-5 μM over 48 hours, leads to a significant reduction in cell viability in a dose-dependent manner[1].

Monensin sodium, at concentrations of 1-5 μM for a duration of 24 hours, demonstrates a statistically significant induction of apoptosis[1].

Monensin sodium, within a range of 0.1-1 μM over 24 hours, inhibits phosphorylated EGFR and its downstream effectors, phosphorylated AKT and ERK[1].
