4-Methylbenzylidene camphor/4-甲基苄亚基樟脑 生物活性

描述 4-Methylbenzylidene camphor (4-MBC), functioning as an endocrine disruptor, mimics estrogen and impacts human trophoblast cells by reducing their proliferation and triggering apoptosis. It activates the PI3K/AKT and ERK1/2 signaling pathways and increases the production of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS). As a UV filter, 4-MBC could interfere with normal placental development in early pregnancy[1].[2].
体内研究

When administered in chow at doses of 0.7, 7, 24, and 47 mg/kg/day to the parent generation prior to mating, during pregnancy and lactation, and to offspring until adulthood, 4-MBC results in increased prostate growth and altered gene expression in the uterus of neonates[1].

体外研究

In HTR8/SVneo cells, 4-MBC at concentrations of 5-400 μM over 48 hours inhibits cell proliferation[1].

At doses of 10-50 μM for 48 hours, 4-MBC leads to apoptotic death in human trophoblast cell[1].

Using 5-50 μM of 4-MBC for 48 hours increases the proportion of cells in the SubG1 phase, indicating cell cycle disruption[1].

With 50 μM for 48 hours, it also reduces the invasive capability of human trophoblast cells[1].

Exposure to 50 μM of 4-MBC for durations ranging from 5 to 120 minutes activates the PI3K/AKT and ERK1/2 pathways in these cells[1].

At concentrations of 20-50 μM over 24 hours, there is a notable upregulation in the expression of genes SEMA6 A, GPR56, ITGB4, EPHB4, and NRP1[1].
