1,8-Diazafluoren-9-one (DFO) is employed in the development of latent fingerprints on porous materials.

体外研究

Within the forensic sciences, both 1,2-indanedione (1,2-IND) and 1,8-diazafluoren-9-one (DFO) are utilized to visualize latent fingerprints on porous surfaces, owing to the formation of fluorescent compounds when these reagents react with amino acids present in fingerprint residue. DFO, despite being more costly and relatively toxic, is favored for its superior enhancement capabilities in comparison with 1,2-IND^[1].
