描述 Docusate Sodium (Dioctyl sulfosuccinate sodium salt) is primarily utilized in stool softeners and functions as a sulfated surfactant. It has the potential to inactivate viral pathogens by disrupting their envelopes or by denaturing/disassociating proteins. Docusate Sodium has shown efficacy in vitro against both wild type and drug-resistant strains of HSV types 1 and 2. Furthermore, it is classified as an obesogen, with developmental exposure leading to increased adult adiposity, inflammation, metabolic disorders, and dyslipidemia in offspring fed a standard diet in mice[1].[2].
