| 描述 | Octadecanal is a long-chain aldehyde and the principal free fatty aldehydes present[1]. Intact SLS (Sjögren-Larsson syndrome) fibroblasts oxidized octadecanol to fatty acid at less than 10% of the normal rate, but oxidized free octadecanal normally, suggesting that the FALDH (fatty aldehyde dehydrogenase) affected in SLS is chiefly involved in the oxidation of fatty alcohol to fatty acid[2]. With octadecanal, a burst phase of product formation, k(prod) = 3.4 ± 0.5 min(-1), is observed, indicating that chemistry is not rate-determining under the conditions of the assay[3]. | ||
