描述 Sudan Red II is a fat-soluble synthetic colorant and it belongs to the group of azo compounds. Using metallophthalocyanine complexes for the first time as spectrofluorimetric agents to detect and determine health-threatening food additive, Sudan II dye, with a new simpler, cheaper, and faster spectrofluorimetric method instead of time-consuming and expensive HPLC processes[1]. Penetration into the cytosol was impeded and inhibited for Sudan red compounds. It is possible for such compounds themselves (excluding their metabolites and by-products) not result directly in terminal toxicity[2].
