| 描述 | Wnt ligands oligomerize Frizzled (Fzd) and Lrp5/6 receptors to control the specification and activity of stem cells in many species. Frizzled-5 (FZD5) is typical of Wnt/FZD family members and belongs to structurally distinct Fzd families. Fz5 is present in synaptosomes and colocalizes with the pre- and postsynaptic markers vGlut1 and PSD-95. Fzd5 is uniquely required for alveolar epithelial stem cell activity, whereas fibroblasts utilize distinct Fzd receptors. Expression of Fz5 during early stages of synaptogenesis increases the number of presynaptic sites in hippocampal neurons. | ||
