生物活性
描述 Calcein AM is permeable to cell membranes, allowing for easy entry into cells. Initially non-fluorescent, it is converted by cellular endogenous esterases into the polar molecule Calcein, which carries a strong negative charge and remains within the cell due to its inability to cross the cell membrane. Calcein emits intense green fluorescence, making it a popular choice for pairing with Propidium Iodide in assays to assess cell viability or virulence, with an excitation/emission wavelength of 494/515 nm[1].
