描述 3-Hydroxybutyric acid is a metabolite elevated in type I diabetics that modulates the properties of membrane lipids. 3-Hydroxybutyric acid is able to interact with lipids (modelled on DPPC monolayers) and alter phase behaviour at clinical concentrations. 3-Hydroxybutyric acid can also decrease the interfacial viscosity of DPPC monolayers[1].
