描述

Vidarabine (Ara-A) is an antiviral agent particularly effective against herpes simplex and varicella zoster viruses^[1].^[2]. Vidarabine demonstrates inhibitory activity with IC50 values of 9.3 μg/ml for HSV-1 and 11.3 μg/ml for HSV-2, indicating its potency against these strains^[2]. Additionally, Vidarabine shows anti-orthopoxvirus activity, broadening its antiviral scope^[3].
