Oteseconazole is a tetrazole antifungal agent potentially for the treatment of candidal vaginal infection by inhibiting sterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51).

Oteseconazole 生物活性

描述

Oteseconazole (VT-1161) stands out as an effective and orally administered agent against fungi. It strongly attaches to and inhibits the activity of Candida albicans' cytochrome P45051 (CYP51) with a Kd of 39 nM or less, while not affecting human CYP51. This compound is also applicable in studying dermatophytes^[1].^[2].

Oteseconazole 动物研究

Animal study

Administered orally at doses of 5-25 mg/kg daily for nine days, Oteseconazole significantly suppresses fungal growth and alleviates symptoms of infection in guinea pigs suffering from T. mentagrophytes infections^[2].
