Cefradine is a major group of widely used β-lactam antibiotics[3]. The specific growth rate of C. reinhardtii slightly increased with cefradine concentrations within the range 0.5 - 10 mg/L[4]. Cefradine can inhibit SUV-induced (ultraviolet) skin inflammation by blocking TOPK (T-LAK cell-originated protein kinase) signaling pathway, and TOPK is an effective target for suppressing inflammation induced by SUV irradiation[5]. After a single bolus injection of two grams of cefradine the concentrations of antibiotic in serum and renal tissues of 21 patients were estimated. The estimated cefradine concentrations in serum and in normal and impaired renal tissue within the time interval of 10 to 90 minutes are above the minimal inhibition concentrations for most cefradine sensitive pathogens[6].
