描述 Etofylline (7-(β-Hydroxyethyl)theophylline) is a N-7-substituted derivative of Theophylline. Etofylline is a bronchodilator which can be used for the research of asthma. Etofylline is also an anticholesteremic and reduces total cholesterol level in the blood[2]. Preclinical investigations have demonstrated that low plasma concentrations (1-5 mg/L) of theophylline enhance anti-inflammatory effects of corticosteroids in COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)[3]. Theophylline has a modest effect on FEV1 and FVC and slightly improves arterial blood gas tensions in moderate to severe COPD[4].
