描述 | Clindamycin hydrochloride belongs to the antibiotic family of lincomycin. It has the same antibacterial spectrum as lincomycin, but the antibacterial activity is four to eight times stronger than that of lincomycin[3]. Clindamycin is an effective antibiotic in the treatment of infections caused by certain gram-positive and gram-negative anaerobic microorganisms. Clindamycin hydrochloride is physically and chemically stable in SuspendIt for 182 days in the refrigerator and at room temperature[4]. Total clearance (CL) of clindamycin was low, after both IV and oral administration (0.503+/-0.095 vs. 0.458+/-0.087 L/h/kg). Serum clindamycin concentrations following administration of capsules remained above the MICs of very susceptible microorganisms (0.04-0.5 microg/mL) for 12 or 10 h, respectively[5]. The clindamycin regimen, after USRP (ultrasonic scaling, root planing, and polishing), had a significant effect on plaque and pocket depth measures of periodontal disease but not on gingivitis[6]. |
