描述 | Carboxin (Carboxine) is a systemic agricultural fungicide and seed protectant. Carboxin demonstrates high specificity against the fungal class Basideomycetes, Deuteromycetes and Phycomycetes[1]. Carboxin is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme of certain organisms. The bacterium Paracoccus denitrificans was found to be sensitive to carboxin in vivo, and mutants that grow in the presence of 3'-methyl carboxin were isolated[2]. The systemic fungicide carboxin (5,6-dihydro-2-methyl-1,4-oxathiin-3-carboxanilide) inhibited oxidation of succinate by membranes prepared from Micrococcus denitrificans, the K(i) being 16 muM. Carboxin also inhibited dichlorophenol indophenol (DCIP) reductase activities in a manner both qualitatively and quantitatively similar to the inhibition of oxidation of the various substrates[3]. |
