描述 Fipronil is a broad-spectrum insecticide effective against a variety of pests including Lepidoptera species, thrips, locusts, ants, cockroaches, fleas, and ticks. It selectively inhibits GABA receptors, demonstrating an IC50 of 30 nM for cockroach GABA receptors compared to 1600 nM for rat GABA receptors. Additionally, fipronil is sensitive to glutamate-gated chloride channels (GluCls) which are present in insects like cockroaches but absent in mammals. It has also been found to induce apoptosis in HepG2 cells and to upregulate the expression of CYP1A1 and CYP3A4 mRNA in human hepatocytes[1].[2].
