描述 | Amygdalin, a natural compound found in the bitter apricot kernel, has many biological activities[1]. In vitro studies, amygdalin could delay the progression of cell cycle in LNCaP, DU-145 and PC3 cells, as well as inhibit the cell growth of LNCaP and PC3 cells[2]. Besides this, it was found that amygdalin could block the metastatic spread in RCC cell lines, through the downregulation of α5 and α6 integrins[3]. In vivo studies, amygdalin has the ability of attenuating the acute lung injury induced by lipopolysaccharide in mice, possibly by the inhibition of NF-κB and NLRP3 signaling pathways[1]. In addition, amygdalin could contribute to the improvement of atherosclerosis and the stability of plaque in mice[4]. |
